-About Island to Island -

People often don't know how to use our products or what their names mean exactly :
Pesto....Patè...Sauce....Caponata... what's the difference and what can we do with them?
Let's spend some time together discovering this culinary world.

The difference between Patès and Pestos is subtle :
The Patè is creamier than the Pesto and is more suitable for spreading on bread or crackers.
The granier Pesto is used more for adding to sauces, soups....
It can even be used as a sauce itself, diluted with small amount of olive oil.
But... they are actually interchangeable!

Some days ago I cooked a meat stirfry with a little bit of olive oil ( ours!),
some cherry tomatoes and a pinch of salt
Just before turning down the heat I added a spoonful of "Artichoke & Almond Patè".
A simple meat turned out to be a "Chef's Special".
This is just an example... the limit is your creativity!

Sauces are actually ready to be added to your pasta, or rice dish.
Just heat them in a pan and, please, do not make the usual mistake...
DO NOT add the sauce to the pasta but, instead, add the pasta to the sauce!!
But... it is not certainly forbidden to pour the sauce over boiled or baked potatoes...
even here there are no limits!!

Our Vulcana EVO Oil is precious and is available only
in small amounts, as long as stocks last.

Ciao from Paolo e Mary Veronica
